10 under $10

I'm sitting here sipping on some homemade apple cider, and by homemade I mean I emptied a packet into boiling water, but doesn't the latter sound better? But as I sip my hot drink I am sifting through my picks for my top makeup products under $10. It wasn't easy, but I've narrowed down some essentials that I think everyone should have. Seriously. Go out now and get them. Lets get started.....

1. Eye shadow: Physicians Formula quad in Classic Nudes $6.99
Lets just simmer down on all the shimmer, okay? It isn't the 90's. There is room for a good matte eye shadow in your makeup routine. Day to day I blend a matte mid tone warm brown, or a color of the like, into my crease with a big fluffy brush. I add the shimmer color to the lid and highlight my brow bone with a satin finish shadow, so in between a shimmer and a matte, just a nice sheen.  I love this quad, I use this alone or I use this in conjunction with other palettes and single eye shadows. This makes such a difference in eye shadow application because these medium browns are great for blending out shimmery colors on the lid and in the crease.
-The other option is the L'Oreal quad in 839 Cupa Joe $6.99. These are all matte colors ranging from a matte off white to a matte chocolate brown. ps. these mattes are having a hard time photographing!

2. SOHO pink eye shadow brush, $5.97
I don't think there are that many great eye brushes at the drugstore, but one I've found that compares to my MAC 224 or Sigma E40. It isn't as fluffy as my MAC or Sigma blending brushes but it is far more inexpensive. This applies product in the crease beautifully and works well to blend out colors smoothly. It is worth a shot for just under 6 bucks.

3. Blush, NYX Blush in Mocha, $5.99 (Ulta has this often buy 1 get 1 half off)
This blush is a pink/rose/plum color. I wear this often winter time because its similar to the natural flush in my cheeks and this wears nicely.

4. L'Oreal Voluminous Full Definition Mascara, $6.99
The formula of this mascara is more wet than I normally go for, so be careful applying it because it can clump. It is a medium sized bristled brush that gives me a crazy amount of volume to my lashes. I pair this with a lengthening mascara just to make sure it isn't spidery looking and it is perfection.

5. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk, $5.98
These cream shadows are great on their own but I tend to use these under a shadow as a primer. If you are looking for a good primer at the drug store I would recommend these. They have a variety of colors to please just about everybody and they don't move throughout the day that I've found. These are the two colors I chose, I can't get enough of these purple cranberry shades for the holidays!

6. Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquer, $4.99, CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid
I LOVE THESE! Opaque and long lasting with a good color variety from nude to a deep berry. In one swipe I get extreme color payoff that lasts upwards of 5 hours before I touch up the color. These wear off evenly, you don't have to worry about them fading off blotchy or balling up in the corners of the mouth. One complaint, be careful applying these, because it is in a liquid form and it is so pigmented you have to make sure you apply a thin coat first and work your way up. This one pictured is 303 Apocaliptic

7. Jack Black Lip Balm, $7.50, You can find this at Ulta
This product is holy grail for me. While I use the Dior creme de rose lip balm at night, this is what I use all day, everyday. Seriously. I have one in my bag, my nightstand, on the floor under the couch, my desk, car...you get the picture. Unlike other balms I've tried, this doesn't create a barrier confusing my lips that they are getting hydrated. This lets them breathe while providing them moisture and it lasts a while too, so I don't have to keep reapplying. The first time I tried this, I had really bad chapped lips from using the EOS lip balms that I thought I loved. This provided immediate relief and my lips were better the next morning. Scouts honor. If I could recommend one thing, it would be this. My favorite is the grapefruit and ginger! They look at pretty when you get them, but once you attack them they packaging looks rough!

8. Neutrogena shint control powder, $8.99
This is great if you want something to set your liquid of cream makeup but don't want added coverage. This goes on transparent and keeps the oils at bay for several hours, I am an oily beast.

9. Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer, $9
I bought this off of ASOS who ships for free. This isn't an available brand in the united states, what a bummer because I love this stuff. It smells like marshmallows and chocolate. This appears to have a shimmer in the pan but it doesn't transfer to the face that way, it looks matte. I use this for warmth on the outer perimeter of my face. This is silky and blends beautifully.

10. OPI, In the cable car pool lane, $9
This color speaks to me. I want hair this color. The formula of this polish is so easy to work with in it looks stunning on the nails. It is almost opaque in one coast, but apply two for safe measure. It is perfect for fall/winter time, it's a deep berry wine that looks nice with my fair skin.

Hope to have given you all some ideas on your next trip to Ulta or the drugstore! Enjoy!
