Nighttime Routine

I am a creature of habit, habitual to the point where I am borderline OCD. It's the little things that make me feel pampered and I think that is important! So find the things that make you happy and start your morning and end your night with them. I hope you find some ideas to incorporate into your daily routines!

When I am winding down for the night the first thing I do is make some tea. It is my go-to. I am a Teavana person, mainly the White Ayuvedic Chai Tea (very similar to the Good Earth 'Sweet and Spicy'), especially during the colder months. I've been using the Starbucks Alice&Oliva cups (yes! with the tutu), but my choice in cup changes periodically.

With tea in hand, I start my YouTube marathon where I catch up on videos I haven't watched. I've been loving missglamorazzi lately, especially DIY December.

After that I shower. I am more of a nighttime showering person, I love jumping into bed clean! I've been using the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger for a while now. It has no sulfates or any of that crap. Good stuff, smells wonderful. I almost always use a hair mask when I wash my hair, I just need the extra hydration, I live in a really dry place! The body wash I've been using is the LUSH Its Raining Men. I can't tell you how many of these bottles I've been through, it smells just like Honey I Washed the Kids soap which is my FAVORITE! Once I'm out I use my hair wrap to dry my hair, it is amazing...seriously, I just leave this up in there for a while, like a good 30-45 minutes.

Almost every night I alternate doing a mask or an exfoliate treatment. I use my clarification with my Purity Cleanser (used this for about a two years, tried the Michael Todd in between for a couple months but it wasn't my thing). When I exfoliate I use either the microdelivery cleanser by Philosophy, its gentle but works. The other one I love is by dermalogica and its the daily exfoliate, its a rice powder that you add water too. Tonight I did a mask. I've been using the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment, OMG this stuff is fantastic. I have oily skin and pores are my problem. This pull the gunk out and in return my pores appear smaller. I let this sit for 15 minutes. Once I wash it off, I apply the oil free version Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer and add a drop or two of the Josie Maran argan oil and then apply it to my face. Using the oil in addition has made a huge difference in my skin. My skin is much softer and smoother, therefore my makeup goes on better. I really can't say enough about Josie Marans cosmetic and skin care line.
When I'm done, I take my hair out of my towel wrap thing and add in a pump and a half of the Moroccan oil, this is the third bottle I've gone through and I've already repurchased it. It really does make a difference in my hair, plus is smells amazing. Then I spray in my hand 3 sprays of the Bamboo thermal protector and run it through my hair. Some people have complained that it leaves their hair feeling weird, that's because they put in in dry hair, it is meant for clean wet hair! Lastly, I spray in the soy leave in conditioner, just for some added moisture.

When it comes to a body lotion I am loving The Body Shop Moroccan oil body butter. This smells so clean and makes my skin so soft, I really can't afford to not use a lotion every day twice a day, my location is just too dry!

When I am done with my shower I catch up on my shows, lately it is Dexter. I can't get enough, I am on season 3....almost to season 4 and I know I am going to have to buy the seasons because Netflix only has 1-4! I light a candle. Just the ambiance itself is nice and peaceful. My favorite is Leaves and Cranberry Woods. I stock up when Bath and Body Works has 2/20 and then I use a 20% coupon. That is a deal! When I am ready for bed, I put on Harry Potter, this month I have had The Goblet of Fire in the player, so thats what I've been watching as I fall asleep. Literally. Every night Harry Potter is on. I also apply the Christian Dior creme de rose lip balm. This stuff people....oh my. I didn't understand the hype until I gave in. This feels so luxuries and smells divine. It is a silky feeling balm that leaves my lips so moisturized throughout the night. Lastly, I apply the Joise Maran Argan Infinity Cream all over my decollete, neck, elbows, and hands. This sinks in quickly but it does feel a bit greasy for the first few minutes. So that sums up my little pampering and I hope you can add in a couple to your routine, everyone should pamper themselves just a little!
